Welcome to the Ladies Room.
Two women, one diagnosis and approximately 7 different bathrooms: Flushed follows a changing time in the lives of inseparable sisters, Jen and Marnie. When Marnie is diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency, her life is altered and the relationship between the two girls is tested. Flushed is a play about the everlasting bond that is made within the cubicle walls; where friendships are formed, secrets are shared and girls poo.
Theatre Unlocked is a new theatre company comprised of graduates from the University of Manchester and the University of Salford. Individually, our members have been involved in various projects throughout the country. As part of Ecce Theatre, Catherine Cranfield was recently involved in the production Open Road which received strong 4 star reviews and later transferred to The Kings Head Theatre in London. One of our actresses, Harriet Rose Millsopp, has just completed a BA in acting from ALRA and we are pleased to be her first theatre production since her graduation. Our other actress, Georgia Phillips is currently applying to drama school after graduating this summer with a first in Drama and English at
Manchester. We have a strong ethos of female representation, with a clear aim of shedding an authentic light onto the experience of being a woman in the 21st century.
As a company, we feel that the issues surrounding Premature Ovarian Insufficiency are not as publicly recognised as they should be. Surprisingly, there is only one charity in the UK that deals with this issue: the Daisy Network. We are pleased to be in communication with this charity and are appreciative of their support; we plan to fundraise for them throughout the run.

When 53two was established, we always knew that as part of our commitment to the arts we wanted to give back to the Manchester community. We've been running the arches for 18 months now and it's time to start the return.
53two are now delighted to launch 'FOUNDation' - a fund set-aside specifically for emerging artists in Manchester and the North West. We have pledged to give back what we can to artists from across the spectrum. Whether this is in monetary format, production support, provision of venue, sponsor or other, we intend to put the money we can afford to share, back in to what we love.
There's no specific application for the fund - if you have the passion to produce your own work and it crosses our path you are automatically considered. You don't need to ask, you don't need to fill in a form - if we think that you are showing all the signs of a grass roots artist/group and you have taken the initiative to get the ball rolling, you're on our radar.
